Blog... what blog?

So apparently starting a law firm is a lot of work.  Who knew?  Mark and I have worked so hard on the website and everything else that we needed that I haven't even thought of blogging (or checking blogs) in ages.  Tonight I read through all of my 62 unread blog posts but there are still quite a few to get to of the private blogs.  The only reason I thought of it tonight was because my mom asked me to send her the following video.

Erik's birthday is on Saturday, but my parents will be gone so they gave him his gifts already.   Needless to say, I think they picked out a winner.

Also, we found out today that the bank accepted our offer on the Taylorsville house.  Yes, the one I blogged about months ago.  It has taken a long time but Mark and I both feel good about it.

And now, for the cutest little laugh in the world...

Finally someone appreciates my food

Mark is always on a diet and doesn't seem to appreciate much of what I make, but this little guy LOVES almost everything I make for him.  Case in point, the best green beans EVER.  I slaved over that microwave for a full 9 seconds to get them just right.  Enjoy...

As an added bonus, a sneak peak of Erik's favorite past time.  We should probably have cleaned up before filming, but whatevs.  He does this for at least 30 minutes each day (not all at the same time).

It's been a good week.  We have been very busy but we're excited for all of the changes we have coming up. I'll post them as soon as we have a confirmation.

Ninja

Mark said Erik was wearing his Ninja hood all day, then he snapped a picture to show me just how stealth the little man can be.

In other news, we put an offer on a home tonight.  We weren't really looking, but one thing lead to another and it all happened in a day.  For real.  It is a short sale fixer-upper that my friend's grandpa built in 1919 and his sister destroyed after the grandpa died. My friend and I were chatting at work and he said we should look at it, I called the agent at 4 and he said he was going out of town tomorrow so we met him at 6 to check it out and told him to draft the paperwork by 7. Now we need to see if the bank will accept, but it would be a fun little project.  Too bad Paul and Erin (Mark's brother) just moved to the Caribbean because Mark said it's less than a mile from their old place.

If we get it, I will definitely post some pictures on the blog.  It's only been on the market for a couple of days so there aren't any I could find online.

Walking and showering

I mentioned in my last post how quickly Erik is changing, today I decided to take a little video of one of his new favorite activities.

And here he is in the shower this morning.  Every day he messes up everything in the shower and every day Mark perfectly organizes it again.
Yes, I let him play with the squeegee.  It's hard to say no when he's so cute.

Quitter

So I quit my job this week and I have felt better about quitting each day.  They asked me to stay until the end of February, which I considered for a couple of days, but I just don't have it in me.  I will stay until February 3 and then I will start my own practice focusing on administrative law.  I'm done with civil litigation for now.

The interesting thing that I realized was that I have never in my life quit a job before without a good reason (like moving away from it). It has been an interesting week.

In other news, in a seven day span Erik learned to crawl and climb stairs, he decided that table food was better than baby food, he decided he no longer wants to take baths (he would rather sit on the floor of the shower and let the water run all over his face)... and if I were a better mother I would have written these down earlier so I wouldn't forget the rest.  He learns so much each day, it is unreal.

Halloween... a little late

He was the cutest little puppy for our ward party (we're a little lazy and this was super easy)...

Then he was going to be an adorable mechanic until he peed all over his outfit...

So per family tradition he decided to be a tiger for his first Halloween.  This picture is for Tonya...

This one is frightening of me, but Mark wanted me to post it.

Mark and I played Trick or Treat.  We rang the doorbell at my parents, pillaged their candy then played the best trick of leaving them with Erik while we ran to the gym.  Overall not a bad Halloween.
